Mr R had been recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s.  He asked us to prepare a Health & Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney to address this issue.

Mr R mentioned that he already had a Property & Finance Lasting Power of Attorney which he had arranged through a local firm of Solicitors in 2018 paying £450 + govt fees. Mr R said he was impressed by our services and said he was very happy with our Honest Pricing policy.

Mrs L was downsizing with her daughter’s help, moving house for the first time in over 25 years. She was surprised when the conveyancing solicitor sent all of the documentation to her mobile phone and asked us to explain the documents and any  expenses she would incur as a result of moving into a retirement apartment.

Mr & Mrs P wanted us to prepare identical Wills for both of them. These Wills (often referred to as mirror wills) gave everything to each other and then onto their two daughters and grand-children.

We applied a discount by charging £100 for the first Will and £75 for the second Will. Mr P was very pleased with our Honest Pricing Policy and appreciated being told the cost of their Wills without having to ask.

Mrs G first used our services to make a Property & Finance Lasting Power of Attorney.

Several months later Mrs G asked us to explain the difference between a Marriage and a Civil Partnership. She was anxious to respect the long marriage she and her husband had enjoyed before his death some 15 years earlier.  Mrs G was aware that her present partner would miss out on the many tax advantages married couples enjoyed. We met with Mrs G who was not really aware of the existence of Civil Partnerships.

Mrs G had arranged for her daughter to support her during the home visit.   

Several weeks later Mrs G rang to say that she had decided a Civil Partnership would achieve her financial goals whilst respecting the huge part her late husband had played in their family life.

Ms S  was trying to arrange Equity Release on her home to finance a ground floor bathroom and an upgrade of her kitchen. She had never married and had no close family.

We met with Ms S who felt she was under pressure from the finance company to make a quick decision on whether Equity Release was right for her.
